Circulation Policy – General Lending Terms

Regardless of age, the library does not determine what materials an individual may or may not borrow. The library does, however, restrict video collection access to individuals 18 years of age and older, unless, for younger patrons, parents have signed a release form.

Up to 50 items may be checked out by one registered patron. There are some limits according to format on audiovisual materials and some special children’s collections. Reference, local history, and genealogy items do not normally circulate. High demand items may have further restrictions on their circulation periods and/or on the number of items that may be borrowed. Certain items because of the intended audience or length of the item may have extended load periods. One renewal period is allowed on most items, except new dvd’s.

The library attempts to locate and obtain books on an individual title basis as available from other libraries when a needed title is not available locally. The library reserves the right to restrict the number of interlibrary loan requests submitted by any patron at one time.

Circulation periods are per calendar day. Items due on days the library is closed are automatically extended to the next open day.

Wi-Fi hotspots circulate with special rules and requirements.
